Samuel Freeman Charitable Trust Joins RAIN in Creating Sustainable Agriculture in Niger

The Samuel Freeman Charitable Trust has chosen to support sustainable agriculture in Niger by awarding a grant to RAIN to install School Market Gardens in two nomadic communities. School Market Gardens can produce up to three tons of produce in a single growing season and are a key component to providing food security in the face of frequent drought for our partner communities. This funding will help nomadic communities realize their goals of generating their own food and income in a lasting way while providing education to their children through school funding. 

The Samuel Freeman Charitable Trust has directed over $25 million towards medical, scientific, educational and cultural causes. 

We are especially grateful for their support in the wake of another food shortage that is affecting West Africa.
