Help Create Portsmouth History

The City of Portsmouth's Third Annual West Africa Day will be held at the Redhook Brewery on 21 September (Click here for map of 1 Redhook Way, Int'l Pease Tradeport).

Celebrate the sounds of the African Diaspora with Randy Armstrong & Beyond Borders, Federator No. 1, the Seacoast West African Dance & Drum Group and Akwaaba Ensemble!

RAIN works with nomadic and semi-pastoral people in Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world. For more than a decade, we have helped schools, gardens, and entire communities flourish throughout Niger’s dusty countryside. 100% of the funds raised at the festival will go towards that work.

Luckily, in Niger a little bit goes a long way:

  • $50 provides books for 30 students.
  • $200 supports two schoolgirls and their mentors for a year.
  • $2500 funds the creation of a women's co-op business.

We will have a dedicated sponsor table at the event, and our promotional campaign will be run through our website, social media, e-blasts, print and radio.
