why partner with RAIN?

Grassroots transformation takes time and dedication. For ten years, RAIN's community focused, ground-up approach has created life changing programs for thousands of rural poor in Niger. Emphasizing community focus distinguishes RAIN from many other NGO's -  supporting our programs is an investment, not a one-time gift. In partnership with RAIN, Western African nomadic communities are provided with the tools and support to build durable and replicable programs tailored to their unique needs and goals. 

Our approach fosters high community investment and emphasizes:

• Local ownership of the decision making process
• Use of natural resources and traditional methods integrated with new methods
• Participation of all members of the community
• Preservation of traditional, indigenous culture
• Implementation of self evaluating processes
